After a 45-minute coach transfer, you will have two hours to visit the archaeological site of Olympia, reliving its glorious ancient history. Stroll around the place where the first Olympic Games were organized in 776 BC. it is a unique experience. The guide will provide you with historical information on the treasures that you can admire within the site: the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Hera, the sanctuary of Pelops, the Gymnasium and the Gymnasium. After the visit, you will move to a nearby family-run oil mill located in the heart of a traditional agricultural region. You will be welcomed by the owner and his family who use their experience to promote self-sufficient and sustainable agriculture by incorporating biological and ecological processes into agricultural and food production practices. A glass of ouzo or wine and a slice of homemade olive cake will welcome you before starting an interesting visit. You will discover the virtues, benefits and rich antioxidant properties of olive oil. You will visit the vineyards and the garden of the farm, you will try the simple or aromatic olive oils to learn to distinguish the various flavors (bitter, spicy, green or fruity) and it will be explained to you how this essential ingredient can sublimely complete a fish dish or the flavor of the meat. Finally, you will move from theory to practice with a fun cooking lesson. Test yourself by preparing the famous tzatziki and a Greek salad with freshly cut ingredients. And test your souvlaki pita wrapping skills to complete your chef lesson.
