Travel one hour from the pier south of Bordeaux to an historic and emblematic castle of Aquitania, classified as a French National Heritage site, where you can travel through times to historic periods such as the Middle-Age, the Renaissance and the Age of Enlightenment.

After a short panoramic drive through the Sauternes wine region, visit one of these incredible castles. For example there is Château de Cazeneuve, the region's first château which was built in the 11th century on a Gallo-Roman strongpoint. This castle remained the exclusive property of the Dukes of Albret and of the Kings of Navarre for four centuries. Today the château belongs to the d'Albret's descendants, the Sabran-Pontevès, an illustrious family from which 5 queens, 2 kings, 2 saints, and one pope are descended. There is an opportunity to meet the young Count during your visit, as he lives on site.
