Explore a pair of sites that evoke two U.S. presidents, John Fitzgerald Kennedy and Barack Hussein Obama, during this scenic, half-day excursion to the JFK Library and Museum, with a visit to Harvard Yard.
JFK Library & Museum
Depart the pier for the brief transfer to Columbia Point and tranquil Dorchester Bay, site of the striking I.M.Pei-designed JFK Presidential Library and Museum. Upon arrival, proceed to the comfortable theatre to view an introductory film of 1960s television footage and home movies narrated in part by President Kennedy.
Next, explore the exhibit area to see artwork, artefacts, and videos from his administration. Your visit also includes a look at the videos, possessions, clothing, and other items belonging to the First Lady, Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy.
Harvard Square
Your drive continues on to Cambridge for a visit to Harvard University, where President Kennedy and President Obama both attended. Upon arrival at Harvard Square, take a guided walking tour of Harvard Yard and the Harvard Law campus. Stroll through the beautiful grounds and learn about the background of this historic, elite institution. Along the way, pass by the statue of John Harvard, sculptures, and the bookstores and cafés lining Harvard Square.
Following your visit, re-board your coach for the drive through Cambridge and back to the pier in Boston, crossing the Charles River and passing by the campus of MIT en route.
