After disembarking the ship in Copenhagen, meet your guide for the scenic drive to Odense

After disembarking the ship, meet your guide and depart for the scenic, approximately 2.25-hour drive to Odense, birthplace of the world-famous author, Hans Christian Andersen. En route, cross the Great Belt Bridge, an architectural wonder stretching over 16 miles (about 9.6 kilometres) of the Great Belt Strait, and offering spectacular panoramic views and photo opportunities of your surrounds.

Stroll through charming Odense City, and visit the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen

Upon arrival in Odense, follow in the footsteps of Hans Christian Andersen during a leisurely, guided stroll through this charming city. Along the way, enjoy a unique opportunity to explore the author’s life and beloved fairy tales during a guided walking tour of Hans Christian Andersen’s childhood home.

Enjoy a traditional Danish lunch at the historic Old Inn, then drive to the Funen Open-Air Museum

Next, proceed on-foot for a traditional Danish lunch at the historic Old Inn. After lunch, re-board your coach and head to Funen Village for a visit to the Funen Open-Air Museum.

Upon arrival, take a guided tour of the Great Royal Hall, a recreation of the largest Royal Hall known from the Viking Age in Denmark. Spanning over 6,458 square feet (about 600 square metres), the Great Royal Hall is a unique testimony to the culmination of Nordic architecture and craftsmanship in the Viking Age. Following your tour, some free time is made available for independent exploration.

Enjoy a delicious Danish lunch at the Herthadalen restaurant, nestled amidst a beautiful forest

After breakfast at the Dragsholm Castle’s former stable-turned restaurant and check-out, meet your guide and depart for the approximately one-hour drive to the Copenhagen Airport. Upon arrival, proceed for check-in and your scheduled, approximately one-hour afternoon flight arriving in Helsinki at approximately 4:00 p.m.

Upon arrival at Helsinki Airport and after passport and visa formalities, meet your guide and transfer to the port of Helsinki.

Upon arrival at the port of Helsinki, transfer to the pier and embark the ship.

Please note: This Mid-Voyage Land Adventure requires an extensive amount of walking at times over uneven, gravel, cobblestone, and natural surfaces and inclines, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coaches and board/de-board the airplane, and 60 steps at Dragsholm Castle; lifts are not available. This tour is recommended for active guests in good physical condition. This tour is not suitable for pregnant guests, guests with back and/or neck problems, guests with heart and/or respiratory conditions, guests with a fear of heights, guests prone to motion sickness, guests with limited mobility, and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear warm, comfortable clothing in layers with flat, non-slip, sturdy, and closed-toe walking shoes or sneakers, and bring sun protection, insect repellent, sunglasses with a strap, a weatherproof jacket, raingear, an umbrella, a small backpack for land visits (for cameras, bottled water, etc.), camera, medications, binoculars, and Euros or credit cards for purchases from the ship. Guests must carry their passports and ship’s ID at all times. The tour sequence, timings and itinerary may vary.
