Travel to an ancient Hindu temple and then explore a traditional spice plantation in Goa on the southwestern coast of India during this full day (5.5 hours) tour.


Embark on your adventure from the dock. Board your coach and drive about one and three-quarters hours to Shri Shantadurga Temple. Witness the private temple complex belonging to the Goud Saraswat Brahmin community, located about 19 miles from Panjim at the foothill of Kavalem village. Visit the temple dedicated to Shantadurga, or Santeri as she is called colloquially, the goddess who mediates between Vishnu, the preserver, and Shiva, the destroyer. Learn about the history of the original ancient temple and the current temple constructed in the early 18th century. See the three smaller temples dedicated to other deities in this complex situated in the foothills of a mountain chain, surrounded by lush vegetation.


Reboard your coach for the half-hour drive to a tropical spice plantation in a village untouched by pollution. Soak in the surrounding pure unadulterated nature as you begin your hour and a half walk. Revel in the cover of green vegetation, the chirping of birds and the tranquil stream that makes this a breathtaking experience. Be regaled by your knowledgeable guide as you learn about the variety of spices grown here and their medicinal values.
