Experience the ancient and modern-day wonders of Greece during this scenic, half-day sightseeing excursion to Athens and the Acropolis, and a transfer to the Athens International Airport.


Scenic Drive through Athens

Depart the pier for approximately an hour sightseeing drive through the city. Pass by the Olympic Stadium, home of the first modern-day Olympic Games in 1896, the former Royal Palace at Constitution Square and Syntagma Square, home of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. After seeing these and other ancient and contemporary sites, your tour continues to the world-renowned Acropolis site.


Acropolis

Upon arrival, climb the smooth marble steps of the Acropolis. After passing through the Propylaea, the entrance to the complex of buildings, view the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erectheum and its classical Porch of Maidens, the Caryatids. From here, visit the Parthenon, considered the world's most perfect example of classical architecture. Looking down from the Acropolis, see the ancient Greek theatre of Dionysos and the Roman theatre of Herod Atticus.


After your visit, re-board your coach for your transfer to the Athens International Airport for your flight home.

Note

Please note: This tour is available to disembarking guests with flights departing Athens International Airport after 3:30pm. Guests must claim and clear their bags through Customs at the pier. Luggage will then accompany guests on the coach. This tour involves an extensive amount of walking for approximately 1.5 hour, with about 80 stairs to climb at the Acropolis. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing and non-slip, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses from the ship. Please be aware that ongoing restoration work is often carried out at the Acropolis. Crowds are to be expected at the Acropolis. Large bags, backpacks and oversized purses are not permitted inside the Acropolis archeological sites. If traffic is light, guests may arrive at the airport a bit earlier. The tour sequence may vary.
