Rockland, Rockport and Mount Battie

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 45-minute orientation drive through Rockland, with its bustling main street and the famous Breakwater Lighthouse in the distance. Pass by Rockport, one of Maine's most beautiful harbours, before visiting the summit of Mount Battie in Camden Hills State Park. Upon arrival, take in sweeping panoramic views of Penobscot Bay and Mountains, the town of Camden and islands peppering the bay. On a clear day, you can see the distant Cadillac Mountain at Acadia National Park, the highest point along the northern Atlantic seaboard.

Camden

After your photo stop, re-board your coach and head to quaint Camden, a quintessential New England harbour town nestled in the protected harbour between the sea and romantic rolling hills of coastal Maine. Upon arrival, some free time is made available for you to browse the lovely small local shops and eateries in this bustling town.

Samoset Resort and Lobster Bake

Next, re-board your coach and proceed to the Samoset Resort for a traditional 'Downeast' lobster bake in a beautiful setting along the coast. Savour a lobster pulled fresh from Maine's ocean water and drizzled with butter (steak is available for guests who do not eat lobster), along with fresh bread, coleslaw, potato, sweet corn-on-the-cob, and a piece of homemade blueberry cake or pie for dessert. After lunch, re-board your coach and commence the short drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a minimal amount of walking for approximately 20 yards (about 18 metres), with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach. Walking in Camden is at the discretion of each guest. This tour is suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear comfortable, layered clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection and a light jacket or sweater from the ship. Guests must be at least 10 years old to participate on this tour.
