Excursion Helicopter adventure above the guld of naples & the island Capri tour at Capri
Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Experience the luxury of Gulf of Naples with a helicopter tour, a visit to the hidden Blue Grotto, a stroll through the opulence of Capri, lunch at the 5-star Grand Hotel Quisisana and a guided tour of the Augustus Gardens overlooking Capri Bay.
Helicopter Tour of Gulf of Naples
Tender ashore and transfer via private taxi to the helicopter terminal. Receive your safety briefing and take off on a memorable tour of the breathtaking Gulf of Naples. Take in the spectacular panorama of steep cliffs and picturesque villages. Fly over the archaeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum, excavated towns destroyed by Mount Vesuvius's cataclysmic eruption in 79 A.D. Close by is the symbol of the Bay of Naples, Mt. Vesuvius, the still active volcano which features a lava river formed by the last eruption in 1944.
Blue Grotto
Arrive at Capri and transfer to a rowboat at the Blue Grotto's boat dock, for a visit inside the famous cavern. Weather permitting, enter the cavern of the Blue Grotto and experience its spectacularly bright blue waters for yourself. This part of the tour requires boarding a smaller rowboat to enter the narrow cave mouth. The grotto's intense blue color and otherworldly glow is breathtaking to see in person. In case of very bad sea conditions, an alternative to visiting the Blue Grotto is a visit to Axel Munthe's residence in Anacapri, or the popular chair lift to Monte Solaro.
Tour of Capri Town and Lunch at Grand Hotel Quisisana
Drive to Capri town and walk through the well-known Piazzetta, a compact and lovely place that serves as the central hub of the town and is considered the most fashionable squares in the world. Walk to the 5-star Grand Hotel Quisisana for a three-course lunch, choosing from the menu of the day, including the exquisite local wine.
Augustus Gardens
After lunch there is the option to take a guided walking tour along Capri's cobblestone streets to the Augustus Gardens, which offer beautiful panoramic views of the Bay of Marina Piccola as you stroll amongst beautifully maintained and lush gardens, a true paradise on earth. Look for the Faraglioni rock stacks that stud the stunning blue waters.
At the conclusion of the tour meet your guide and the transfer back to the pier via private taxi.
