Kuan Yin Tong Temple

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 40-minute drive to the Kuan Yin Tong Temple. Admire the craftsmanship of this ornately decorated temple with dragons swirling on the roof and columns. Explore the adjacent garden landscaped with Chinese zodiac sculptures and wall murals of Chinese legends.

Bintulu Market

After a brief visit, re-board your coach and drive past Kampung Baru, a small Malay fishing village on the Kemena River, en route to the Bintulu Market. Upon arrival, take a short guided stroll through the market, which features exotic fruit and local delicacies.

Bintulu Mosque

Pass-by the Bintulu Mosque, 'Masjid Assykrin Mosque' which means "gratefulness to God"

Bintulu Longhouse

Brief visit to an Iban Longhouse enroute. The Ibans were long ago feared for their headhunting activities. Many Ibans still live in wooden longhouse on stilts which is divided into individual rooms "bilik" for each household with a communal area called "rual" for villagers to meet as well as perform their traditional ceremonies.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking for approximately 0.6 miles (about one kilometre), at times over inclines, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and up to 60 steps at the sites visited. Walking at the sites is at the discretion of each guest. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection, a raincoat and insect repellent from the ship. Due to the amount of vehicles available all seats may be utilised. Bring local currency for any purchases made.
