Experience some of the many faces of Salvador de Bahia during a picturesque, half-day sightseeing excursion to this historic city.

Depart the pier via coach for the scenic, approximately 30-minute drive to the Farol da Barra (Barra Lighthouse), one of the city's most famous landmarks. Built in 1536, it was the first fortification in the country and remains amongst the most popular destinations in Salvador. After a photo stop here, re-board your coach for a leisurely drive through the residential suburbs of Barra, Vitoria, and Campo Grande en route to the Municipal Square, gateway to Salvador's historical quarter, the famed Pelourinho.

Upon arrival, walk to the Cross Monument and make a stop at the Baianas Memorial Gallery, a part of the great efforts by black women to preserve the cultural origins of Candomblé; past Sé Square en route to Terreiro de Jesus Square.

Visit the City Cathedral, one of the most important sacred buildings in Colonial Brazil, and admire the most important collections of Brazilian sacred art of the late XVI century.

Afterward, a refreshment stop is made for a coconut water, the iconic drink of Bahia, followed by some free time for shopping and exploring at your leisure.

Your guided stroll continues through the historical quarter, along narrow, cobbled streets lined with colonial townhouses painted in pastel shades. Your final stop is at Pelourinho Largo, the heart of the Old Town and a historic site where enslaved Africans were once publicly punished. In recent history, it gained additional fame as the location where Michael Jackson filmed his music video for 'They Don’t Care About Us.' The site is a symbol of the Black movement in Brazil and is Salvador’s most iconic postcard view.

Afterward, return to the coach on foot and enjoy the short drive back to the pier.
