Depart the pier with your guide for the scenic, approximately 30-minute drive to the Iao Valley and Wailuku Town. En route, pass through Kepaniwai Park, the site of Kamehameha's victory against Maui's army. Upon arrival at the Iao Valley, take a narrated drive through Maui’s ‘Valley of the Kings’ en route to Iao Valley State Park.

Upon arrival at Iao Valley State Park, stroll along a path offering stunning views of the lush valley and leading to a panoramic viewpoint overlooking ‘The Needle’, a sacred volcanic pinnacle rising from the valley floor. Following your visit, re-board your coach and head to the Maui Tropical Plantation, an approximately 60-acre (about 24 hectare) working farm.

Your visit to the Maui Tropical Plantation begins with a narrated tram tour through a variety of picturesque agricultural fields, including sugar cane and macadamia nut orchards. Afterward, observe a coconut-husking demonstration and browse the Country Market, where you can purchase macadamia nuts, Hawaiian-grown coffee, guava jam, and many other island products. At the conclusion of your tour, re-board the coach for the short drive back to the pier.

Please note: There is a 0.6 mile path to a scenic viewpoint of the needle. The Needle can be viewed from the motorcoach parking lot. This tour involves a moderate amount of walking and standing, at times over uneven, muddy, slippery, and natural surfaces and inclines, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and board/de-board the tram, and access the viewpoint overlooking ‘The Needle’. Guests with limited mobility, and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Weather conditions can vary greatly in the Hawaiian rainforest, and become much cooler at higher altitudes. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing in layers with flat, closed-toe, and non-slip walking or hiking shoes, and bring sun protection, biodegradable sunscreen, insect repellent, an insulated and weatherproof jacket, umbrella, bottled water, and US Dollars or credit cards for purchases from the ship.
