Excursion Mangroves flamingos & sand between your toes tour at Kralendijk

Your adventure begins with a meet-and-greet with your safari guide and a ride in a 4x4 open air off-road vehicle. Head into Lac Bay National Park to explore one of the Caribbean’s best-preserved mangrove forests, home to a rich variety of birdlife and wildlife.

Wildlife & Birdwatching

Drive through the park, stopping at watering holes to observe flamingos and herons wading through the mangroves. Keep an eye out for donkeys and goats grazing peacefully, and take plenty of photos of the wildlife in their natural habitat.

Lac Cai & Beach Time

Your next stop is Lac Cai, a stunning sandy bay with fishermen’s huts and piles of conch shells along the shoreline. Swim in the protected, crystal-clear waters or relax on the beautiful beach, a rare sandy spot on Bonaire’s rocky coast.

Scenic Drive & Bird Spotting

Continue your journey across paved roads to the southeastern side of the island. Here, your guide will be on the lookout for Bonaire’s iconic flamingos—graceful, pink-feathered birds that are especially striking in the wild.

Return & Reflection

After enjoying the scenic beauty and wildlife encounters, re-board your vehicle for the return trip to the pier, bringing home unforgettable memories of Bonaire’s natural splendor.

Please note: This tour requires moderate activity, but is not recommended for guests with back or neck problems due to the off-road driving involved. Guests should be able to climb the open air 4x4 vehicle with a short 4 step ladder with handles.This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility, pregnant woman or those who utilise a wheelchair. Minimum age to participate is 12, maximum age is 78 with a maximum weight for any participant of 225 pounds (102 kilograms). Guests should dress in lightweight, seasonal attire and wear comfortable walking shoes, sun protection and a swimsuit under their attire. Please bring a towel from the ship if you wish to swim.
