Maniitsoq is often referred to as the "Venice of Greenland" due to its intricate network of waterways and islands. The town and its surroundings boast stunning natural beauty, diverse wildlife, and a chance to explore Greenland's dramatic landscapes. Take a stroll through the town and make sure to stop by the historical and cultural museum located in Maniitsoq. Maniitsoq Museum is a historical museum and a cultural museum in the town of Maniitsoq on the west coast of Greenland. The area has been inhabited for over 4,000 years, and the museum displays pictures and archaeological finds from these settlements. The museum displays finds from both the Saqqaq culture, the Viking Age and the later Thule culture.

Local infrastructure is basic, and local road conditions are unpredictable, note that roads in Maniitsoq are only partly paved, with some inclines and steps.
