After departure the Pauillac pier, your guide will take you to the center of Pauillac. Situated on the left bank of the Gironde Estuary, Pauillac is the gateway to the “Haut Médoc” wine regions. Bordered by Saint-Julien AOC to the South and Saint-Estèphe AOC to the North, the Pauillac AOC (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée – a French government-controlled designation of origin which signifies where grapes are grown), is home to three of the five “First Growth” wineries, from the world renown 1855 Wine Classification that gave the world Cru and Grand Cru wines.

During this walking tour, you will walk through Pauillac streets and discover the local typical architecture and history through St Martin’s Church and the townhall. After this relaxed walk, you will enjoy a tasting of 2 wines before going back to the ship.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking at times over uneven and natural surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and at the wine chateau. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection, bottled water and Euros for purchases from the ship. Guests must be at least 18 years old to participate in tastings of alcoholic beverages. The tour sequence may vary.
