Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 30-minute drive to the Urca neighbourhood, then proceed to designated beach access area of beautiful Urca Beach. Upon arrival, receive your safety and kayaking instructions and gear, embark your double-kayak, and begin your exhilarating, approximately two-hour guided kayaking journey.

Your kayaking route proceeds along the calm, coastal waters of the Atlantic Ocean and around the impressive granite rock of Sugar Loaf Mountain, with the city of Rio de Janeiro in the background. En route, marvel at the breath-taking panoramic views from the water in all directions, and look for the colourful and diverse species of fish, seabirds, and marine life that typically inhabit these inviting waters.
Urca Beach, Free Time, Sunbathing, Swimming
Your kayaking adventure concludes back at the designated beach access area of Urca Beach, the starting point of your kayaking adventure. Upon arrival, return your safety gear and kayak. Afterward, some free time is made available to relax on the beach, soak up the sun, and/or take a refreshing swim in the ocean. Following your visit, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 30-minute drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of activity and a moderate amount of walking, at times over uneven, sandy, and natural surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and embark/disembark the kayak. This tour is recommended for active guests who are in good physical condition, experienced kayakers, and can swim well in water over their head. This tour is not suitable for pregnant guests, guests with back and/or neck problems, guests with heart and/or respiratory problems, guests prone to seasickness, guests with limited mobility, and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear a swimsuit under a cover-up with flat, closed-toe walking or water shoes they won’t mind getting wet, and bring sun protection, insect repellent, a towel, change of clothing, beach sandals, backpack, bottled water, a plastic bag to keep your wallet, cell phone, camera, and/or photographic equipment dry, and local currency or credit cards for purchases from the ship; jeans and high-heels are not permitted. Guests must be at least eight years old to participate on this tour; minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 18 years old. This kayaking tour operates in double-kayaks. Life vests, kayaks, and paddles are provided. In the event of damage or loss of the kayak or paddle, the full cost of the kayak or paddle will be charged to the guest. Waterproof cameras are highly recommended. The total kayaking time is approximately two hours. A signed waiver is required to participate on this tour. Space on this tour is extremely limited; we suggest you book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
