Sugar Loaf

Drive through Flamengo Park en route to the highlight of the tour, a cable-car-ride to the approximately 1,200-foot-high (365 metres) Sugar Loaf Mountain. This famous mountain offers breathtaking views overlooking Corcovado, the beaches, the Rio de Janeiro-Niteroi Bridge and the city of Niteroi across the bay.

The first cable car takes you to Urca Hill. For guests wishing to venture even higher, the second cable car soars to the lofty summit of Sugar Loaf itself. From this vantage point there are breathtaking views of the city, harbour, Copacabana Beach, towering Corcovado and the mountains beyond. After the descent from this unparalleled vantage point, re-board the motor coach for the return drive to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking. This excursion involves the negotiation of approximately 50 stairs with handrails to reach Sugar Loaf; it is recommended that guests wear flat, comfortable shoes. The order of sights visited may vary.  A minimum number of guests per guide are required to operate this program.  You might experience long wait times at the Sugar Loaf Mountain cable car.  Please be aware that tour duration could be affected by traffic and the order of sights visited may vary.
