Depart the pier for the short drive to the Patagonian beaches of Puerto Madryn. Upon arrival at the dive shop, receive your safety and snorkelling instructions and gear, then embark your boat for the approximately 30-minute ride to the natural reserve of Punta Loma. As you approach the diving area, you can spot local birds nesting over the cliffs and shores of Patagonia.

Guided Snorkelling with Sea Lions

Upon arrival at the diving area, don your neoprene suit and snorkelling gear, and begin you guided snorkelling session. Sea lions are harmless, and like to play when they find themselves among humans. Your snorkelling session lasts approximately 45-minutes, and the presence of sea lions is normally constant. You may even be escorted by your new friends on the way up. Following your snorkelling session, embark the boat and enjoy light refreshments during the approximately 30-minute ride back to the pier. Upon arrival, disembark the boat, re-board your coach and commence the short drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of activity and a moderate amount of walking, at times over uneven and sandy surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach, and three steps to negotiate to embark/disembark the boat and manoeuvre in/out of the boat, and ten steps to access the boat. This tour is recommended for active guests who are in good physical condition, and able to swim and snorkel in water over their head. Snorkelling takes place in approximately 30 feet-40 feet (about 9.1 metres-12.2 metres) of water. Guests will not be able to touch the bottom, or stand, whilst snorkelling. This tour is not suitable for pregnant guests, guest with neck and/or back problems, guests with heart and/or respiratory conditions, guests prone to seasickness, guests with limited mobility, and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear a swimsuit under a cover-up with warm, comfortable clothing in layers and flat, rubber-soled boat shoes, and bring sun protection, a towel, weatherproof jacket, and change of clothing from the ship. Guests must be at least 12 years old to participate on this tour; guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18. Coaches, guides, hotels, restaurants, equipment, and services are the best-available in the area, but may not be up to the standards of those found on other excursions. Masks, snorkels, fins, safety vests, and neoprene suits are provided. Dry suits are available at an additional cost of 35 USD per person which will be charged to the onboard account. Waterproof cameras are highly-recommended; There are changing facilities at the beach. Although frequently encountered on this type of tour, fish and marine life sightings are not guaranteed. This experience takes place in a Natural Reserve environment. Guests are requested to respect local flora & fauna according to the local laws and regulations. Guests may not snorkel if they have consumed alcohol. A signed waiver is required to participate on this tour. Operation of this tour is subject to tidal and/or weather conditions. Space on this tour is extremely limited; we suggest you book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
