Cruise line: Silversea

Tel Aviv was founded in 1909 as a modern housing estate on the outskirts of the ancient port city of Jaffa. It is today a city of urban creative energy and freedom, also the economic, technological fashion, culture and cuisine center of the country.

Orientation Tour by Coach

From the coach pass by one of its main streets named Ibn Gvirol. Drive past the Habimah National Theater (founded in Moscow in 1917) and the Mann Auditorium, leading the way to Rothschild Boulevard which houses many of the Bauhaus architecture buildings, adding this credit to Tel Aviv being named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Walking Tour

Enjoy a pleasant stroll on part of the Independence Trail which includes landmarks and themes related to the founding of Tel Aviv and the State of Israel. View from the exterior the Independence Hall, the monument of Tel Aviv Founders and the first kiosk.

Dinner

Enjoy dinner at one of the popular restaurants and sample some of Israel's local wines. Today it is a growing industry with hundreds of wineries, ranging in size from small boutique enterprises to large companies producing over ten million bottles per year. There are more than 300 wineries, including 70 that harvest 50 tons of grapes or more a year, and the largest produce more than 90 percent of Israel's wine. The country is also home to many garagiste winemakers. (A French term used to describe independent, artisan winemakers handcrafting small batches of wine on their own and not discovered by the mainstream.)
