Glacier Exploration Station

This world class multimedia show is an interactive, immersive, and multi-sensory experience that allows you to explore a glacier from top to bottom and even gives you a glimpse of the old seas that lie beneath. Be inspired as you to learn, dream, and see yourself in a new light; to win you over, distract you, and dazzle you; to immortalize the past; and tell a fascinating story. As you pursue this multifaceted mission, strive to transform your visit into a unique and fascinating multi-sensory experience.

The multimedia show is divided into three acts composed of spectacular and unique projections. You will first you admire the "Vastness of the Glaciers", a three Dimensional-inspired projections that flies you over a glacier that has evolved and been shaped by the Earth's changing climate throughout history.

You will then hop in a virtual elevator that will take you 4 km underneath the glacier. It's an environment of immersive visuals and stunning sound effects. Finally, you will discover the "Ancient Seas of Québec".

The Garden of the Glaciers, in collaboration with Chamonix Mont-Blanc, presents its most impressive temporary exhibition to date: Glaciers and Men. Keepers of the precious archives about the past climate of our planet, as well as experts of the discipline, have brought to the public and newcomers an exhibition of the most significant glaciers by presenting photos from all around the world.

There will be a short tour of Baie-Comeau's heritage area, including Place La Salle (this quaint commercial artery, home of the Biosphere square, full of sites of historical interest, bustles with specialty food shops, souvenir stores, art galleries, fine restaurants, and nightclubs). Visitors can admire the magnificent scenery and Champlain Street where the former Premier of Canada, Brian Mulroney, spent his childhood. Guests may either stay in town or return immediately to the ship at the end of the tour if time permits.

Please note: This tour requires a minimal amount of walking at the station and in town. It is wheelchair accessible and suitable for guests with limited mobility.
