Borg and Lofotr Viking Museum

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately one-hour drive to Borg. Upon arrival, proceed for a visit to the Lofotr Viking Museum, site of an ancient Viking farm accidently discovered at the end of the last century. Today, it has been reconstructed adjacent to where the remains of the original building were found, and is considered to be an archaeological sensation.

Located up a small hill, the Lofotr Viking Museum is an actual replica of a Viking home, with narrow doors, high thresholds and stone paths. The main building itself is approximately 272 feet (83 metres) in length, surrounded by various exhibitions and reconstructions, and offers a very realistic impression of life during those harsh times.

Unstad Viewpoint

Next, re-board your coach and drive to a nearby viewpoint for stunning oceanfront vistas over Unstad. After a photo stop here, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 1-hour drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking for approximately 656 yards (600 metres), at time over uneven surfaces and inclines, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and a few steps at the Lofotor Viking Museum. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing, flat, closed-toe walking shoes are recommended.
