Introduction to Addo Elephant National Park
Located in the Eastern Cape, approximately 70 kilometers northeast of Port Elizabeth, Addo Elephant National Park is celebrated for its remarkable wildlife diversity. Beyond its iconic elephants, the park hosts kudu, African buffalo, eland, South African hartebeest, bushbuck, warthog, plains zebra, black rhino, hyena, and leopard. Since 2003, lions have been introduced, completing the legendary "Big Five."
Private Safari Experience
Guests will be collected from the harbor in a private vehicle and transferred to the park, where they will switch to a dedicated, private open-game drive vehicle. This exclusive vehicle provides unobstructed views and the freedom to explore the park at a relaxed, flexible pace.
Lunch and Scenic Picnic Spots
A packed lunch is available, which can be enjoyed while watching wildlife or at one of the scenic picnic areas within the park, offering a perfect opportunity to unwind amid the natural beauty.
Following the game drive, guests will be transported back to the harbor, completing a memorable safari in one of Africa’s most renowned wildlife reserves.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate/extensive amount of off-road driving and a minimal amount of walking, at times over uneven, bumpy, gravel, and natural surfaces and inclines, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the 4X4 vehicles. This tour is recommended for active guests in good physical condition. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection, insect repellent, a light, weatherproof jacket, and a camera from the ship. Guests must be at least 6 years old to participate on this tour. Please ensure that you don’t have any fruits with you on this tour. Guests are not permitted to use cellular phones during the game drives, to speak loudly as this disturbs the animals, nor stand up on the game drive vehicles. Smoking is not permitted during the game drives. No food may be taken into the reserve on the open vehicles. Guests must carry their passports. Although frequently encountered on this type of tour, wildlife and bird sightings are not guaranteed. Due to the prevailing weather conditions and movement of dangerous wildlife on the Game Reserve, the programme contents and sequence are subject to change by the lodge management without prior notice. Amakhala Private Reserve is located in a malaria free area. Space on this tour is extremely limited; we suggest you book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
