Marvel at the coastal beauty of Northern Ireland and its most famous landmark during this memorable, full-day sightseeing excursion.
Derry City and Villages of Limavady and Coleraine
Depart the pier for the short drive to the walled city of Derry. Since the walls of this city were never breached, she is known as the 'Maiden City'. Upon arrival, take a sightseeing drive through the centre of this small, developing city. From here, travel through the towns of Limavady and Coleraine en route to the stunning Antrim coast at Portrush.
Giant's Causeway
Next, a visit is made to the Giant's Causeway, an UNESCO World Heritage Site revered by the Irish as the 'Eighth Wonder of the World'. For centuries, countless visitors have marvelled at the majesty and mystery of the Giant's Causeway. Situated at the head of one of Europe's most magnificent coastlines, its unique rock formations have, for millions of years, stood as a natural rampart against the unbridled ferocity of Atlantic storms. The rugged symmetry of the columns is both intriguing and inspiring, and your stroll on the Giant's Causeway is a voyage back in time to a bygone volcanic age.
Lunch, Antrim Coast and Dunluce Castle
Leaving the Giant's Causeway, re-board your coach and proceed for lunch at a local hotel. After lunch, re-board your coach for a panoramic drive along the northern Antrim Coast. Along the way, savour the magnificent scenery and stop to photograph Dunluce Castle, one of the most extensive ruins of a mediaeval castle in Ireland. Afterward, re-board your coach and drive back to the pier.
