Safety Briefing & Ride Preparation
Your experience begins at the pier in Old San Juan. After a safety briefing and waiver signing, you’ll be fitted with your bike and helmet before heading out on your ride. The adventure starts immediately as you cycle along the seaside toward the Capitol Building, taking in fresh ocean breezes and sweeping coastal views while your guide shares background on Puerto Rico’s government and its historic significance.
Cycling Through Old San Juan’s Historic Core
Continue across the city streets to the San Juan Bautista statue for a photo opportunity before riding through the marked bike lane past Fort San Cristóbal. You’ll enter the heart of Old San Juan via San Francisco Street, stopping to learn about key historical moments and the city’s colonial-era development near City Hall. The route then climbs uphill along San José and San Sebastián Streets, leading to Plaza Quinto Centenario—one of Old San Juan’s most symbolic public squares.
Fortifications, Coastal Views & Return Ride
Your journey continues around the impressive grounds of Castillo San Felipe del Morro, where you’ll pause for photos and stories about the fort’s strategic role in past battles. From there, ride to La Rogativa to hear the local tale of the British attack before dismounting and walking your bike down to Paseo La Princesa. Enjoy beautiful sights along the waterfront promenade, including a stop at the Raíces Fountain, before cycling back to base and walking the final stretch to the ship.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of biking, at times over uneven, cobblestone, natural, and slippery surfaces, hills and inclines. This tour is recommended ONLY for guests in good physical condition who are confident and experienced in biking. This tour is not suitable for pregnant guests, guests with neck and/or back problems, guests with heart and/or respiratory conditions, guests with limited mobility, and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear sneakers suitable for bike riding, sandals and flip-flops not permitted. Guests must be at least 12 years old to participate on this tour. Safety helmets are provided, and must be worn at all times. A signed waiver is required to participate on this tour. Guests should be prepared for high temperatures and humidity throughout the tour and take necessary precautions to stay safe and comfortable.
