Excursion Eco trail at porto belo island tour at Portobelo

Approximately 15 minutes boat ride to Porto Below Island. Your island tour will start with a beautiful walk along the ecological trail. A journey of approximately one hour, with a medium degree of difficulty and full of beauties of native flora and fauna. The stretch is circular and has 1,300 meters of extension amidst of the Atlantic Forest.

The highlight of the guided tour are the curiosities and legends related to the occupation history of the island, such as the golden angel, for example. Legend has it that the Jesuits would have hidden beneath the rock, called the Stone of the Cross, a statue of an angel of gold the size of an adult man. History remains a mystery to this day. They also tell us that the rock inscriptions found on the stone that gives its name to the trail, carved more than four thousand years ago by the ancient peoples of the region, would in fact be a map to find the golden angel.

Along the trail there is also the gazebo, which presents the visitor with a fantastic view, the environmental refuge, with orchid and space for animals and wild birds, in addition to all the sounds and colors of nature.

You will have some free time at the beach at the end of your walk.

Please note: This excursion involves 2 miles of walking over uneven terrain, making this tour unsuitable for guests with limited mobility. Light clothing, sun protection and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. No Food venues available on the island. Bring towel from the ship you you plan on going to the beach.
