Excursion Exclusive visit at château lafon-rochet tour at Bordeaux

Cruise line: Silversea

Enjoy your call in the port of Pauillac to discover the famous wineries that surround the town.

Pauillac is the gateway to the “Haut-Médoc” wine region. Bordered by Saint-Julien AOC to the South and Saint Estephe AOC to the North which is where we are taking you today. Saint-Estephe AOC (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée – a French government-controlled designation of origin which signifies where grapes are grown and how) is home to wineries that are ranked in the renown 1855 Wine Classification that gave the world Grand Cru wines.

Head to Château Lafon-Rochet, part of these classified wine estates, and also recognizable by its yellow buildings, a winery that goes back to the 16th century. Located in the Northern part of the Medoc wine region, this winery is just the perfect place to experience a part of local heritage and traditions. After visiting the chateau, have a tasting of 4 wines, including their “Primeur” wine directly from the barrel!

Then, head back to the ship with new tasty memories.
