Excursion Explore kakum national park tour at Takoradi

Explore the breathtaking beauty of Kaum National Park, one of Ghana’s most iconic natural treasures. This full-day guided tour immerses you in the park’s lush tropical rainforest, home to a vibrant ecosystem of wildlife, exotic flora, and towering trees. In the morning experience the thrill of walking across the famous canopy walkway, suspended 30 meters above the forest floor. The seven bridges stretch over 350 meters, offering panoramic views of the dense greenery and a chance to sport birds, butterflies, and monkeys.

Enjoy a local lunch in the park (outdoor setup). In the afternoon embark on a guided nature hike through the forest for approximately 3h with your knowledgeable ranger. Learn about the medicinal plants, ancient trees, and the park’s efforts to conserve its unique biodiversity.

Please note: Ghana is a very-low-income country with very basic infrastructure, and vastly different to the western culture mentality. Local conditions may be challenging; therefore, we urge flexibility and understanding as we visit unique and somewhat remote destinations. This excursion involves a significant amount of walking (over four hours in total) uphill over steep uneven stone steps and uneven ground, including exposed tree roots. This tour is recommended for physically fit guests only and is unsuitable for individuals with limited mobility. Guests who may be hesitant about heights, note the canopy walk is suspended about 30 meters above the forest floor. This excursion includes 4 hours driving, with 120 minutes in each direction. Lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, sun protection and insect repellant is recommended. Anticipate high temperatures and humidity and we recommend staying hydrated by bringing your water bottle. Although frequently encountered on this type of tour, wildlife sightings are not guaranteed. Guests are informed tips to local guides and drivers are at guest’s discretion.
