Visit La Gomera's capital, San Sebastian, and follow in the footsteps of famous company - this relaxed-pace city perhaps is best known for hosting Christopher Columbus before his transatlantic expedition to the “new world.” Venture out to the surrounding area to capture photos of the astonishing rock formations seen from Mirador de la Degollada. Visit Roque de Agando, an enormous rock formation so prominent it is used as a symbol of the island. Stroll San Sebastian's pedestrian-friendly streets, and historic core of sun-bleached pastel-painted buildings and shaded plazas. Meander through the city to discover La Casa de Colon where Columbus lived as he prepared for his epic voyage. Visit the church where Columbus and his crew attended mass before setting sail and promenade past El Pozo de Aguada, the manor house where the explorer collected water for the voyage. See Torre del Conde, the remains from a 15th century fortress built to protect the citizens of La Gomera from pirates.
