From the port of Ashdod, travel eastward, ascending the Judean Hills and tracing the ancient route to Jerusalem. You will drive through the fertile Ayalon Valley, home to Yad La'Shiryon at Latrun, the armoured corps memorial site and museum.

On your way into Jerusalem, pass the contemporary suburb of Ramot en route to Mt. Scopus. At The Hebrew university , have your camera ready for panoramic views of the walled Old City, Temple Mount, the Golden Gates, the Church of the Ascension,and the Mormon University. Drive by the unique Church of All Nations in the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus prayed with his disciples on the eve of his arrest. On your way through the Kidron Valley, pass the tombs of Zacharia and David's son, Absalom.

Your drive along the eastern walls provides a view of King David's city. Inside the walls, the holiest site in the Jewish world is just a short walk from the Dung Gate: the Western (Wailing) Wall. Originally supporting Solomon's Temple, this imposing wall survived countless battles and today provides comfort and prayerful peace for fervent Jews and countless visitors.

Enjoy a delicious lunch before proceeding to drive by some landmarks of West Jerusalem: the State President's residence; the Israel Museum, which houses the world famous Dead Sea Scrolls; the Knesset (Israel's Parliament); the State Supreme High Court; and Hebrew University, home to 2005 Nobel Prize winner Professor Emeritus Robert J. Aumann.

Concluding today's excursion is a leisurely drive back to Ashdod Port and your awaiting ship.
