Start your day with a scenic drive south to Kennebunkport, taking in the views of Maine's iconic shoreline along the way. A charming coastal village, Kennebunkport gained prominence in the early 1990s as the summer residence of the George H.W. Bush family. The architecture here is stunning, as there are numerous restored homes from the 18th and 19th centuries, including the renowned Wedding Cake House.

Scenic Cruise, Bush Compound

At Dock Square, board your sightseeing boat for a picturesque cruise beginning along the Kennebunk River into the neighbouring waters. The boat affords wonderful views of the affluent community, the idyllic shoreline, and landmarks like the Bush compound on Walker's Point. After the cruise, you'll have some free time in Dock Square to browse its collection of upscale shops, restaurants, and art galleries, and enjoy lunch on your own.

Fort Williams Park, Maine’s Oldest Lighthouse

During the return drive to Portland, a photo stop is made at Fort Williams Park, home to the Portland Head Light. Maine's oldest lighthouse, it was first illuminated in 1791 using whale oil lamps. The lighthouse stands 72 feet in height. In the former keeper's quarters, there is a museum celebrating the substantial role of the lighthouse in keeping the seas safe.
