DAY ONE – Sunday May 10, 2026 – Agadir/Marrakech
Start your day with breakfast onboard before meeting your local guide and departing the pier in a comfortable, air-conditioned coach for the scenic 160-mile drive to Marrakech, taking approximately 3 hours with a convenient stop enroute.
In Marrakech, your first stop is the 12th-century Koutoubia Minaret, a stunning Moorish monument. Continue to Dar El Bacha Museum, the former residence of Thami El Glaoui, known as the “Lord of the Atlas.” This luxurious palace features elaborate decorations, painted walls, cedar paneling, and Andalusian-style zelliges, now home to a modern museum and a planned international collection by Patty Cadby Birch, a dedicated Marrakech lover.
Next, visit Bahia Palace, a beautiful example of Arab-Andalusian architecture with marble, stucco, and mosaics, opening onto courtyards filled with fountains and greenery. Then, explore Medersa Ben Yousse, built around 1570, the largest Koranic school in the Maghreb.
Enjoy lunch at a traditional Moroccan restaurant in the heart of the medina, then head to Jemaa el-Fna Square to mingle with street performers, snake charmers, acrobats, and water-sellers. Wander through the labyrinth of souks, especially Souk Smaine, known for textiles, clothing, and Moroccan crafts—an enchanting maze of colorful alleys and artisan stalls.
Your day ends at Jemaa el-Fna, filled with entertainers and lively food stalls, contributing to the vibrant ambiance of Marrakech. Afterward, head to your hotel to check in, refresh, and unwind before having dinner.
Overnight accommodation at La Mamounia Marrakesh.
DAY TWO – Monday, May 11, 2026 – Agadir/Marrakech
Savor a buffet breakfast at the hotel prior to checking out and heading off for a horse-drawn carriage ride to the Majorelle Gardens. Discover this verdant oasis, which features plants from across the globe, serene lakes, and the famous Art Deco villa where Yves Saint Laurent's ashes were laid to rest.
In the vicinity, explore the Yves Saint Laurent Museum, crafted by Studio KO, which displays over 5,000 dresses and 15,000 haute couture accessories. The museum's modern-Moroccan architecture is adorned with vibrant shades of blue, green, red, and tangerine, and includes a library, bookshop, auditorium, and a café with a terrace that overlooks a reflection pool.
Relish a local lunch, then proceed to Dar El Bacha, the historical home of Thami El Glaoui, which now serves as a museum showcasing an impressive collection of over 3,000 artifacts from civilizations dating back to 5000 BC, including jewelry, weaponry, and archaeological wonders.
Subsequently, navigate the lively maze of the Souks, particularly Souk Smaine, famous for its textiles, clothing, and Moroccan crafts. The colorful alleys and squares are filled with a diverse range of stalls and artisans. Conclude your day at Jemaa el-Fna, Marrakech’s vibrant square bustling with street performers, storytellers, and food stalls, creating a lively ambiance. As the evening draws near, and after a thrilling and eventful day, commence your transfer back to Safi to rejoin Silver Wind, cherishing unforgettable memories of this captivating city.
