Excursion Maullín river fly fishing adventure tour at Puerto Montt

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Experience the natural beauty of southern Chile during a fly-fishing excursion on the Maullín River, one of the Lake District’s most scenic waterways. Flowing through forests, wetlands, and rural landscapes, the river offers a peaceful setting for anglers and nature enthusiasts alike.

Board a small boat and navigate a stretch of the river accessible only to shallow-draft vessels, allowing access to areas that remain largely untouched. Accompanied by experienced local guides, learn about fly-fishing techniques and the aquatic ecosystems that support species such as brown trout, rainbow trout, and salmon.

As you drift through tranquil waters bordered by dense native vegetation, enjoy the opportunity to cast a line while taking in the rich birdlife and natural scenery that define this remote corner of Patagonia.

Note

Please note: This experience operates on a catch-and-release basis; fish may not be brought back to the ship. While catches are common, success cannot be guaranteed. A maximum of two participants share each boat, and availability is limited. The minimum age is 12 years. Guests must be in good physical condition and able to board and disembark the boat without assistance, as well as maintain good balance while on the water. Walking is limited but takes place over uneven grassy and gravel surfaces. Weather in this region is unpredictable, and rain showers may occur at any time of year. Layered clothing, rain gear, hiking shoes, a hat, sunglasses, and insect repellent are recommended. Light-colored clothing may help reduce attraction from horseflies. A towel is also recommended.
