Port Elizabeth, Algoa Bay Yacht Club, Harbour Cruise, Penguin Island, African Penguins
Depart the pier for the short drive to the Algoa Bay Yacht Club. Upon arrival, walk to your awaiting boat, meet your captain/guide, and receive your safety and tour instructions. Afterward, your tour begins with a harbour cruise before exiting the port and setting sail for Peanut Island, home to the largest breeding colony of African penguins in the world.
Bottlenose & Common Dolphins, Humpback, Migratory & Bryde’s Whales
In addition to the penguins, you may also encounter schools of bottlenose dolphins in groups. Common dolphins and humpback whales can also be spotted, but they tend to be either further out to sea or closer inshore. Migratory whales may be seen from June-December, whilst the resident Bryde's whale can be seen throughout the year; however, it is very elusive and seen fleetingly.
St. Croix Islands, Refreshments, African Penguins, Gannets, Seabirds
During your cruise, a refreshment stop is made off the St. Croix Island Group, which is home to approximately 20,000 African penguins, making it the largest breeding colony on the planet. Gannets and other seabirds may also be seen on this approximately 15.5-mile (about 25-kilometre) trip to Peanut Island. Your cruise concludes back at the Algoa Bay Yacht Club. Upon arrival, disembark the boat, re-board your coach, and commence the short drive back to the pier.
