Plitvice Lakes National Park, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, stands as one of Croatia’s most stunning natural attractions. This park features a collection of 16 interconnected lakes, formed over centuries by natural limestone barriers, resulting in a breathtaking landscape filled with cascading waterfalls, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant greenery.
Your adventure commences at the northern entrance, where you will follow a circular path through the park. Notable sights include the magnificent Great Waterfall, the tallest in Croatia, and the picturesque Lower Lakes canyon, where you will encounter lakes such as Novakovica Brod, Kaluderovac, Gavanovac, and Milanovac. The trail proceeds to Kozjak Bridge before gradually ascending along the eastern side of the canyon and looping back to the starting point.
