Visby, Guided Bicycle Tour, Almedalen, Powder Tower

After meeting your guides and the pier and receiving your safety and tour instructions, don your safety helmet and begin your guided, approximately three-hour bicycling adventure. Depart the harbour for the first leg of your bicycling route to Almedalen, once the sight of the Hanseatic Harbour. Upon arrival, a stop is made to see the oldest remaining structure in Visby, the old Kruttornet (Powder Tower).

Strandgatan, Botanical Gardens, Maiden’ Tower, Klinten, Old City, Harbour, Baltic Sea

Afterward, continue riding along Strandgatan en route to the lovely Botanical Gardens. Visby's mild winters allow such specimens as almond trees, magnolias, and acacias to grow beside vivid displays of flowers.

Pass by the Botanical Gardens and Maiden's Tower, then bike uphill to Klinten. Here, a photo stop is made for breath-taking panoramic vistas over the ruins of the Old City, harbour, and Baltic Sea.

Countryside, High Cliff of Högklint, Fridhem, Princess Eugenie’s Summer Residence, Refreshments

Next, your route continues along a bicycle path headed south into the beautiful countryside en route to the high cliff of Högklint, approximately three miles (about five kilometres) south of Visby. Your last stop is at

Princess Eugenie's Summer Residence in Fridhem. Upon arrival, a Swedish fika (tea or coffee with local cake) is served. Afterward, commence the picturesque, approximately 80-minute ride back to the pier. Upon arrival, return your helmet and bicycle, then commence the short walk back to the ship.
