Excursion Wet & rugged nature adventure tour at Roseau

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Today's adventure takes us to Dominica's mountainous interior and the Morne Trois Pitons National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A short 20 minute drive from the pier will take you along the slopes of steaming rainforests, crossing countless rivers and offering spectacular breath-taking panoramas before getting to the start of your hike.

The first stop on the hike is the breathtaking Fresh Water Lake, often drenched in mist and tranquility. The loop trail hike around the lake provides for a roller coaster-like walk that offers stunning vistas of the lake, the Atlantic east coast, as well as the surrounding landscapes and vegetation.

Once done we continue further inland to the Boeri Lake for a 2 hour (return) hike along hilly and stony terrain through thick rainforest. The trail to this mountain crater is just as wild and appears! At the lake we take a moment to catch our breath, recharge and enjoy the views before heading back to our tour vehicle. At the vehicle we enjoy a picnic lunch served at the Fresh Water Lake Visitor facility.

Next, we head to Titou Gorge for a short swim up a narrow channel that opens into a cascade. Translated literally to mean little throat, this adventure is through an opening in the rock and is guaranteed to provide an adrenaline rush. Guests will be required to wear a life vest and should be strong swimmers.

From here, we return to the wharf.
