Excursion Expedition activities with silversea expedition team tour at Nuku Hiva

After a dry landing onto a concrete jetty with a few steps, you will be welcomed by the local community with the traditional performance. Afterwards, visit the Kamuihei archeological site is dominated by a massive banyan tree. It is one of the most important archeological sites in the Marquesas Islands, with paepae (stone platforms), tiki, me’ae (religious sites) and numerous petroglyphs etched into the rocks. It takes the best part of a day to explore this veritable open-air museum.

Depending on the weather and the sea condition of the day, Silversea Expedition Team will offer various hikes and potential zodiac cruise. More specific information and logistics will be communicated by the Expedition Leader on board.

Please note: There is minimal walking, though it is on a dirt road that may be uneven, so guests with limited mobility should take note and bring a travel companion if possible. Casual clothes and comfortable shoes are recommended.
