Excursion Oviedo & gastronomy traditions tour at Gijon

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

The monks who founded the city of Oviedo in the year 761, most likely did not suspect that choosing a hill in the heart of Asturias, where they built a church dedicated to San Vicente, would surpass one thousand two hundred years. Take a panoramic drive through the city and then stop for a guided walking tour as you traverse through its history.

Board your motor coach and drive to Oviedo, approximately 30-minutes away.

Oviedo

Most, but not all, of Oviedo's treasures can be found within what were once the walls of the city's medieval town. The street and plaza layout of this district has remained unaltered throughout the centuries and it therefore offers a look back in time. A guided walking tour will take you past the San Salvador Gothic Cathedral; continue on to the carefully restored Old Town area, decorated with beautiful sculptures. Enjoy some free time to discover more on your own.

Make your way to a local and authentic Austurian tapas bar and taste the flavours of this region of Spain with varied small dishes to share..

Return to your ship and the pier area when finished back aboard your motor coach.
