Helicopter Flight, UNESCO World Heritage Sites

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 15-minute drive to the airport. Upon arrival, board your helicopter, receive your safety and flight instructions, and begin your scenic, approximately 1-hour flight-seeing journey. A photographer's delight, this panoramic flight-seeing tour was specially created for guests with walking limitations who can't climb steps or walk distances, but can get into the ground vehicles and helicopter on their own.

Sigiriya Rock Fortress, Lion Rock

Along the way, marvel at a breath-taking, panoramic overview of the most popular three of Sri Lanka's eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and their surrounds. Perhaps the most popular tourist destination in Sri Lanka, the Sigiriya Rock Fortress is encircled with awe-inspiring natural beauty, and features an unusual rock formation called 'Lion Rock', which rises 656 feet (about 200 metres) from the scrub jungle.'

Dambulla Cave Temple Complex, Ruins of Polonnaruwa

Next, take in stunning aerial views of the 1st-century B.C. Dambulla Cave Temple Complex, whose compelling and inspirational tranquillity has touched the spirit of millions of visitors who have passed through its sacred spaces over the centuries. Finally, get a bird's-eye view of the Ruins of Polonnaruwa. The second capital city of Sri Lanka, Polonnaruwa was built during the 11th-century and 12th-century A.D., and is one of the best examples of ancient urban planning in the country. At the conclusion of your flight-seeing adventure, commence the short flight back to the airport in Trincomalee. Note

Please note: This tour is non-refundable within 14 days of sailing. This tour involves a minimal amount of walking for approximately 219 yards (about 200 meters), with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the vehicle, and seven steps at the China Bay Airport. This tour was specially-created for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair who can't climb steps or walk distances, but can get in/out of the ground vehicles and helicopter on their own. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe and non-slip walking shoes, and bring sun protection from the ship. Infrastructure in Trincomalee is basic, and local conditions may be challenging: coaches, guides, equipment, and services are the best-available in the area, but may not be up to the standards of those found on other excursions therefore, we urge flexibility and understanding as we visit unique and somewhat remote destinations. The cost of providing a tour programme in this area is proportionately more expensive than in neighbouring regions as vehicles and guides are brought in from Colombo. This may be reflected in the prices of the tours and we thank you for your understanding. Some sites may be crowded, and depending on traffic and parking conditions, it may be necessary to cross busy streets. The tour sequence may vary. Space on this tour is extremely limited; we suggest you book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
