Abatan River Cruise
The Abatan River is the main tributary of the Abatan Watershed which is the third largest and one of the three main rivers in the province of Bohol. With a total distance of 13.5 km from the town of Cortes, traversing the towns of Maribojoc, Antequera to Balilihan. It used to be the main waterway of the people when the roads were still undeveloped.
On arrival depart by way of a motorized 'sampan' from the jetty in Cortes, cruising along the estuary with lush vegetation of nipa palms & mangroves which also serves as habitat for birds. The river bank is also home to crabs, shells, shrimp, among others gathered by the locals for food & livelihood. A brief stop will be made in a local village to see the locals perform folk dances and watch nipa weaving before returning to the port. This tour will take you to see lush greeneries, trees and other scenery that the river has to offer.

Please note: This tour involves a minimal to moderate amount of walking for approximately 300-500 meters or 0.2-0.3 miles with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and the river cruise boat. This tour is suitable for guests with limited mobility but not for those who utilise a wheelchair. Lightweight comfortable clothing, and flat, closed-toe walking shoes are recommended.
