Explore Asilah’s History and Seaside Charm

Upon arrival, learn about the fascinating history of Asilah and explore this beautiful seaside resort during a guided stroll through the narrow streets of the Old Town. Originally settled around 1500 B.C. by the Phoenicians, who used it as a trading port, the city’s history is marked by periods of Portuguese occupation starting in the 15th century. The Portuguese control ended in 1692 when the city was liberated and returned to Morocco.

Today, Asilah stands as one of Morocco’s most popular resort destinations along the Atlantic coast, especially during the summer months. It offers tranquil beaches, Mediterranean-style houses, museums, and vibrant street art from artists worldwide.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking for approximately 0.65 miles (about 1.05 kilometers), at times over uneven and cobblestone surfaces and inclines, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and at the sites visited. This tour is not suitable for guests prone to claustrophobia, guests prone to motion sickness, guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection, bottled water and local currency for purchases from the ship.
