Upon arrival in Taipei, your first visit is to the Bao-An Temple.


Bao-An Temple

Bao-An Temple is recognized by UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards for Culture Conservation of its restoring successfully constructions older than 50 years in 2003. Located at the confluence of the Tamsui and Keelung rivers, the area DaLong Cave developed very early and the center of worship was around Bao-An Temple which was built in 1825. The construction of the temple is differ from others that all of the wood, stone materials and even the artisans had to be brought over from mainland China. This is what makes Boa-An Temple so unique.

Following your visit, a short drive brings you to the lively action of the Di Hua Old Market area.


Di Hua Old Market Street

Leave the coach for a leisurely stroll, taking in the sights and getting a feel of Taipei's past and present. The shops in the traditional Di Hua Market have been the most important place for Chinese medicine and exotic food items since the Japanese colonial period. While the market is most popular prior to the Chinese New Year, you may experience an atmosphere slightly less hectic.


At the end of your walk, re-join your coach for the drive back to Keelung Port. Time permitting, a photo stop at Taipei 101 for an exterior visit may be offered.
