Excursion Fraser island exploration with a ranger tour at Fraser

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Escape into the World Heritage-listed wilderness of Fraser Island and discover ancient rainforest growing in seemingly impossible conditions. Guided by experienced Ranger, learn about Australia's most stunning freshwater lake, freshwater streams over sand, and the history of Central Station.

Central Station Rainforest

Board a custom-designed 4WD vehicle for approximately 45-minute scenic drive to the Central Station Rainforest. Step back in time and learn about the early settlers of the island and the logging station where giant Satinays were exported across the world for marine use. Walk through these giant trees into a world of ancient King Ferns and a freshwater creek that flows across white sands - it's like nothing you've ever seen.

Lake McKenzie

Your next stop will be at the Lake McKenzie - a brilliant blue gem hidden in the middle of the island and surrounded by sand and rainforest. Here, you will have a chance to swim in the crystal clear waters of this perched dune lake full of sparkling rainwater and a delicate eco-system. Lake McKenzie is perfect for immortalizing in photos and revitalizing spirits.

Your half-day excursion concludes with a return drive back to the pier.
