Excursion Heimaey exploration with eldheimar museum tour at Vestmannaeyjar

Drive from the pier into the Herjólfsdalur valley, and visit a replica of the Viking house. The tour continues along the western part of the island on the way to “Stórhöfði” (Great Cape). Make a stop at the two volcanoes - the 5,000 year old volcano “Helgafell” and  “Eldfell” (“Mt. Fire”), visit the the viewpoint over the old town located on the new lava, and the Eldheimar Museum.

Please note: There is minimal, mostly optional walking involved on this trip on mostly paved or gravel surfaces. Dress according to weather of the day and comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
