Telašcica Bay, Islands, Islets, Flora & Fauna, Rock Formations
Located in the central-eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea, in the south-eastern part of Dugi Otok Island, this exquisite bay is renowned for its extreme beauty, richness, and importance. Telašcica Bay is surrounded by 13 islands and islets, along with six islets inside the bay itself, which was proclaimed a Nature Park in 1988. Telašcica had previously acquired the status of a protected area in 1980 because of its rich and diverse flora and fauna, geological and geomorphological phenomena, versatile sea-bottom life, and interesting archaeological heritage. The area of the Telašcica Nature Park is one of contrasts, with quiet, peaceful beaches and a low, flat coastline on one side, and wild and steep cliffs on the other.
