Embrace the Old World beauty of the Languedoc region during this delightful sightseeing tour. Your half-day excursion begins with a drive to Pezenas where you will stroll through the Old City and visit the Roman Catholic Church. Next, drive Noilly Prat Cellar for a visit and tasting of Vermouth.
Depart the pier for the approximate 50-minute drive to the charming little town of Pezenas.
Pezenas
A former fortified Roman city and the seat of the government of Languedoc, today Pezenas is a city of artists. Upon arrival, take a guided walking tour through the Old City. Along the way, see the narrow roads, 17th-century mansions with elegant balconies and ornate doorways, and visit the Roman Catholic Church. There is a well preserved Jewish ghetto dating from the middle ages and one of the most important religious monuments in Pezenas is the 18th century Collegiale Church of Saint-Jean.
Following your guided tour, some free time is made available for you to explore the fine array of artisans' shops before re-boarding the coach for the drive Marseillan to reach Noilly Prat Cellar.
Noilly Prat
Marseillan is a small port on the bank of the Thau lagoon and also for the Noilly Prat distillery. On the premises, you will experience a unique and exclusive visit to the cellar and learn about the way to elaborate this unique French Vermouth. You will appreciate the unique architecture of the different spaces you will walk through, and at the end of the visit your specialized guide will invite you taste the different Noilly Prat wines. Then on the way back you will drive on panoramic and coastal road to Sète.
Your tour concludes with the return drive to the pier.
