Scenic Drive to Trunk Bay

Depart from Cruz Bay aboard an open-air safari bus for an approximately 20-minute drive up and over the rolling hills of northern St. John. Along the route, your guide will share captivating insights into the island’s natural beauty and history, with stops along the way offering spectacular panoramic views of the coastline and surrounding islands. After a brief photo opportunity, arrive at the Trunk Bay parking area. From there, it’s just a short walk to the beach, where your adventure begins.

Snorkeling & Beach Relaxation

Once at the beach, your guide will provide a quick briefing and fitting of snorkel gear. The highlight is the National Park Service’s marked underwater trail, which makes exploring the coral reefs and marine life both easy and educational. Swim among vibrant fish, including parrotfish and yellowtail snappers, and keep an eye out for graceful green turtles and stingrays gliding nearby. For those new to snorkeling, your guide will offer instruction and tips to help you feel comfortable in the water. Seasoned snorkelers will appreciate the abundance and diversity of life beneath the surface.

Enjoy approximately 90 minutes of free time to relax on the soft sands, take a dip in the clear waters, or simply revel in the breathtaking scenery. Capture photos or unwind beneath the shade of palm trees, soaking in the beauty of this unspoiled Caribbean paradise.

Return Journey

After your beach and snorkeling time, your guide will lead the return paddle to Cruz Bay, a pleasant 20-minute journey. Once back ashore, it’s a short walk to the tender dock, completing your memorable trip to one of the world’s most acclaimed beaches

Please note: This moderate excursion typically involves snorkeling, though that aspect is optional and may be skipped by those uncomfortable in the water. The tour is not suitable for guests who utilize a wheelchair or have limited mobility. A waiver must be signed to participate. Please consider your level of physical fitness before participating. Guests should be comfortable swimming and snorkeling. Children aged 8 and older are welcome. Snorkel gear is provided. Bottled water is provided in the tour vehicle, which features bench seating. Wear suitable beach attire and bring along your preferred sun protection, swimwear, towel, and a change of clothes. Beverages and snacks are available for purchase at Trunk Bay. The order of sights and activities may vary.
