Excursion St. george's walking tour tour at St. George's Island

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Experience the scenic beauty and sights of St. George's Town on-foot during an invigorating walking tour through this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Depart the pier on-foot with Bermuda's former Town Crier, E. Michael Jones, for a walking tour of the 17th-century town of St. George. Stroll along narrow roads, alleyways and streets once roamed by rogues and rumrunners, pirates and privateers, blockade-runners and the local gentry. En route, learn about the town's early history, current heritage plans and local folklore, and see samples of indigenous flora and fauna.

During your walking tour, a visit is made to Stuart Hall, an 18th-century National Trust home with open wooden beams. Next, proceed to the new home of the Bermuda Perfumery before visiting St. Peter's, the oldest Anglican Church in the New World. The former Mayor of St. George's, one of only a few people certified to conduct historic tours of this ancient town, narrates your tour.

At the conclusion of your walking tour, you may opt to return directly to the ship or remain in town for additional exploration or sightseeing at your leisure.
