Celebrate the history, traditions, and flavours of Uruguay during this fun-filled winery and tango experience.

Montevideo, City Centre, Independence Square, Legislative Palace

Depart the pier for a scenic sightseeing drive through Montevideo en route to the city centre. Along the way, photo stops are made at Independence Square and the Legislative Palace. Montevideo’s most important plaza, scenic Independence Square separates Ciudad Vieja from downtown Montevideo.

Located in the Aguada neighbourhood, the monumental Legislative Palace was inaugurated in 1925 in commemorative of the centenary of the nation’s Declaration of Independence. It is the meeting-place of the General Assembly of Uruguay, and the legislative branch of the Uruguayan government.

Cuchilla Pereira District, Sponoglio Winery, Guided Tour, Meal with Wines, Tango & Milonga Show

Next, head to the southern district of Cuchilla Pereira, also known as ‘The Wine Land’, for a visit to the historic Spinoglio Winery, a traditional, authentic winery founded in 1898. Upon arrival, take a guided winery tour of the old machinery museum and wine cellar. Afterward, proceed to the winery’s restaurant for a delicious meal served with Spinoglio wines, and enjoy enthralling tango and milonga performances by dancers and singers that recreate the era in which the tango emerged in the Rio de la Plata in the late-1800s. Your meal concludes with a local dessert and the rhythms of traditional music. Following your visit, re-board your coach and commence the approximately one-hour drive back to the pier.
