Depart the pier for a guided tour of Zadar via tuk-tuk, a motorised, three-wheeled taxi. Begin with a ride along the Coast of Duke Trpimir and Zadar Marina towards a scenic viewpoint, where a brief stop is made to marvel at the spectacular panoramic view and learn about Zadar. After a photo stop here, your ride continues towards the city centre, through neighbourhoods, and over the city bridge en route to the Peninsula.
Peninsula, Sea Organ, Greeting to the Sun Monument
Upon reaching the Peninsula, a stop is made at the Sea Organ, a unique architectural, sound, and art object. This experimental musical instrument plays music by way of sea waves and tubes located beneath a set of large marble steps. In addition to the Sea Organ, see the nearby monument, Greeting to the Sun. It consists of 300 multi-layered glass plates placed on the same level as the stone-paved waterfront, and in a circle approximately 72 feet (about 22 metres) in diameter, with photovoltaic solar modules underneath. Lighting elements installed in a circle are turned on at night to produce a dazzling light show.
Roman Forum, Fosa Port, Land Gate, City Centre, Guided Stroll, Maraschino Liquor & Cake Tasting
Next, a stop is made to see the Roman Forum and learn about its origins. Afterward, head to the port of Fosa and Land Gate. Built in 1543, this decorated stone gate once served as the entrance to the city of Zadar. After a brief stop here, return to the city centre for a guided stroll through the Old Town of Zadar. Along the way, a stop is made for a maraschino liquor and cake tasting. At the conclusion of your tour, commence the short walk back to the pier.
