Tatuyos Village

Located on the left bank of the Rio Negro at approximately 25 km from the port, the village of Tatuyos find itself in a preserved jungle area of the Amazon, bringing together the Tatuyos ethnic groups; Toucans; Uanamos; Curipacos; Dessans; Tuiúcas; Arapaços and Tarianos.

Rio Negro

Board the regional speedboat on the pier for an approximately 1-hour ride upstream through the Rio Negro.

On the way, your guide will be able to make some stops to give information about the river and surroundings.

Indigenous Ritual

Upon arrival, you walk to the main hut to watch an indigenous ritual of celebration.

After the ritual, you will have the opportunity to stroll through the community, interacting with the local people and listen to some indigenous stories, you may even get your face painted.

Local Tasting

Taste some indigenous appetizers such as edible ants, Beju which is an Indian Tapioca, fried fish and fruits.

Experience an authentic indigenous culture seeking to keep their tradition alive.

Talking to the residents, participating in the festivities and walking a little through the vast territory of the reserve is, in some way, immersing yourself in an exclusive culture and absorbing a range of knowledge that reveals a little of the history of all of us.

Following the visit, you will re-board your boat for the return journey to the floating pier in Manaus.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking of approximately 200 metres over uneven ground. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Transportation is by local riverboat or speedboat. Caution is advised when embarking and disembarking the boat. The boat is equipped with basic restroom facilities as well as basic sound system. Guests are advised to wear a raincoat, lightweight, comfortable clothing with long trousers and flat-soled, closed-toe, comfortable walking shoes, and bring sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat and sunglasses from the ship. Make sure you have USD in small denomination or Brazilean Real to make purchases at the village, since credit card will not be accepted.
